Buying Solutions carries out procurement for all UK public services and is part of the Efficiency and Reform Group within the Cabinet Office, their role is to streamline the complicated process of public sector purchasing, which is duly subject to strict controls that ensure fair and responsible spending of public funds.
NHS organisations will now be able to procure from Telehealth Solutions directly, reducing drastically the cost of tendering, this is an added bonus due to the recent Government budget cuts. The UK’s National Health Service has been ordered to make savings of £20bn over the next four years despite growing healthcare demand.
Telehealth is the use of telecommunications and computer technology to bring patients and doctors closer together, so taking tests in a community setting or in the home, and then sending that data automatically to a carer. It’s been used to remarkable effect in the US, the EU and there has been significant interest Singapore and the Asia Pacific.
