After self-declaring May of 2010 as ‘Fundraising Month,’ Skyline New Jersey employees raised more than $2,000 for four charities close to their hearts.
PINE BROOK, NJ — The employees of New Jersey trade show displays company, Skyline New Jersey, collectively declared May 2010 as “Fundraising Month.” Together, the employees raised over $2,000 by using a variety of creative approaches.
The fundraising event gave Skyline employees a chance to have fun and raise money for four charities of personal significance. The donations were made to Susan G. Korman “Race for the Cure,” the Hemophilia Association of NJ, Parkinson’s “The Unity Walk,” and the National MS Society of NJ.
“Raising money for such important causes really brought our team even closer. Everyone pitched in to help — they even created flyers inviting other businesses in the area to join in the activities. The initial plan was to raise money for charity but the bonus was meeting the neighbors and building a sense of community, said Scott Price of Skyline New Jersey (http://www.skylinenj.com).
The employee-led fundraising activity changed each week throughout the month of May. Week one began with a 50-50 raffle. During week two, the employees organized a walk-a-thon, where employees did laps around the industrial complex backed by their sponsors who donated $2.00 per lap.
Inspired by the Skyline employees, neighboring businesses joined in on the fundraising events during the second half of May which included a bake sale of homemade goods and a yard sale held in the company’s trade show exhibits New Jersey warehouse.
“I’m extremely proud of our team and the passion, dedication, and commitment they displayed throughout the entire fundraising event. These qualities are part of the fabric of our company’s culture and the New Jersey team embodied those values fully during Fundraising Month,” said Price.
