The leading U.S. tarp supplier helps in BP oil spill by supplying tarps that help save wildlife.
Most of us have used a tarp at some point in our lives for some seemingly mundane purpose, such as covering a vehicle to protect it from the rain or sun. However, most people are not aware of the other very essential functions of tarps. For instance, tarps are currently being used to help save the wildlife in the Gulf of Mexico.
Early in 2010 there was a huge oil spill off the Gulf of Mexico. A spoke person from Tarps Plus, Angelina Urquart stated, “This oil spill has not only affected the water, but also the creatures who live in it and the animals who reside in and around that area. The tarps really do help.”
After the spill, many relief workers began arriving on the scene. Their goal has been to clean up as much of the land as possible and to also help save the lives of as many animals as possible. One essential item they brought with them was tarpaulins.
Fortunately, many manufacturers and retailers of tarpaulins felt sympathetic towards the situation in the Gulf of Mexico. They quickly began donating many tarpaulins to those who were assisting in the efforts to clean up the spill and save the animals.
The tarpaulins have been used to rescue the animals that were stuck in the water. The water resistant nature of this item makes them especially useful for doing this. The poly tarps were actually placed right on the water and used to retrieve tons of birds and other animals that would otherwise have died.
The canvas tarps have also been key to providing workers with shelter from the sun and a temporary place to stay while carrying out the relief efforts. The tarpaulins have been used to create canvas tents and poly canopies, which have been shielding workers from the blazing sun.
As winds begin to pick up and the people who live in and around the Gulf brace for bad weather, they are turning to heavy duty tarps for help. During Fall and Winter months, tarpaulins are going to be used to protect buildings and certain locations from the oil that is going to be blown ashore.
