Top-rated Fort Worth florist Bice’s Florist has been named Top Mid-Size Business of the Year by the HEB Chamber of Commerce of suburban Fort Worth/Dallas, Texas. Consistently ranked among the nation’s top florists by FTD and Teleflora, Bice’s won this local honor because of its outstanding customer service and community outreach.
Fort Worth, Tex. – Suburban Fort Worth florist, Bice’s Florist, Inc., is the Mid-Size Business of the Year for 2010, as named by the HEB Chamber of Commerce. The chamber, which takes its name from the suburban Fort Worth communities of Hurst, Euless and Bedford, each year recognizes the area’s top small, mid-size and large businesses.
HEB Chamber President Mary Martin Frazior said the main criteria for the awards are outstanding customer service and a strong commitment to community outreach. “We look for businesses that clearly stand out in these two critical areas, and Bice’s Florist exemplifies those qualities,” Frazior said. “They are always so generous, always going the extra mile to reach out to community organizations.”
Frazior said Bice’s is particularly appreciated for the way it helps not-for-profit organizations raise funds. One Bice’s program, called Helping Hands, allows customers to designate a participating organization to receive a $2 donation from the Fort Worth florist with each purchase. There is no charge for not-for-profit groups to join and receive funds.
Bice’s Florist President Keith Riewe said public recognition is nice, but is not the reason his company is so involved in community outreach and so fanatical about customer service.
“At Bice’s we say being local really matters,” Riewe said. “That’s more than a slogan; it’s a way of life. The people of Tarrant County have supported us so well over the years by making us their preferred Fort Worth florist it’s only right we should support the community every way we can.”
At any given time, several community organizations benefit directly from Bice’s community outreach, including the GRACE food pantry and shelter; Sky Ball, which supports families of deployed Guard and Reserve members; the Carter BloodCare center, and Dallas Cowboys star Jason Witten’s SCORE Foundation.
Riewe calls it all an investment in the future of the community. “Helping others always comes back to you in the form of love, friendship, health, and happiness, so that makes it a pretty good deal for everyone,” he said. One of Bice’s most popular recurring marketing programs, Good Neighbor Day, defines community outreach by giving away thousands of free roses.
The HEB Chamber of Commerce has been promoting business and community development in Northeast Tarrant County for more than 50 years. The 2010 awards dinner was held at the newly opened Hurst Conference Center, with State Senator Jane Nelson making award presentations.
