Tampa, FL (Tampa Car Accident Attorney News)—One person was killed and two others were injured in a three-vehicle accident on Saturday, August 28, 2010. The fatal automobile accident occurred around 2:30 a.m., along West Hillsborough Avenue, as reported by the St. Petersburg Times.
A Ford Contour was traveling westbound on W. Hillsborough Avenue behind a Saturn Sky, in the inside lane. The Florida Highway Patrol stated the Ford was traveling slower than the Saturn, and the driver of the Ford may not have seen the car before hitting the back of it. The impact of the collision caused the Ford to veer into the eastbound lanes, where a Toyota Corolla slammed into the right side of the Ford.
The driver of the Ford, Moris Rakaj, 28, of Clearwater was tragically killed in the wreck. Responding medical crews pronounced Rakaj dead at the scene of the accident.
The driver if the Toyota Michael Hayden, 60, of Tarpon Springs, was rushed by responding emergency medical services to St. Joseph’s Hospital in serious condition. Tampa resident, 28-year-old Jeffrey T. Marcus, was taken to the Town N’ County Hospital for treated of minor injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol is conducting a full investigation into the fatal three-vehicle accident.
