Newport News, VA—Fun Stuff Inc., in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, voluntarily recalled Click Armband Bracelets, Klick Klick Balls and BoBo Balls due to choking hazards associated with the children’s toys. The CPSC announced the product safety recall, which affects approximately 14,400 Click Armband Bracelets, 7,900 Klick Klick Balls and 14,400 BoBo Balls, on Tuesday, September 14, 2010.
Fun Stuff Inc. apparently received one report of a ball located at the end of the toy’s arms detaching in a 21-month-old girl’s mouth. While the girl did not require any medical treatment in connection with the incident, the Newport News-based distributor ostensibly recalled the product as a safety precaution.
Children who play with the recalled Click Armband Bracelets, Klick Klick Balls and BoBo Balls run the risk of choking on the small balls attached to the end of the toy’s arms. According to the CPSC, “The toys were marketed for children age 3 and over. CPSC staff has designated these toys for children between the ages of 19 to 35 months.”
The CPSC also described the product as follows: “The recalled bracelets and balls are made of stretchy, rubber material with hard plastic, colorful balls attached at the end of the toy’s arms. The toys were sold with orange, green, pink, purple and blue colored balls. The BoBo balls have a flashing lighted ball encased in the stretchy material.”
The following toys and item numbers, which can be found on the product’s packaging, are subject to this particular recall:
• Toy: Click Armband Bracelet
Item #: FS1842
• Toy: Klick Klick Ball
Item #: FS1734
• Toy: BoBo Ball
Item #: FS1814
The risky toys were made available for purchase at beach resort stores nationwide and cost between $2 and $5. They were sold from January 2009 through August 2010.
Consumers have been urged to confiscate the potentially hazardous toys from children immediately.
Consumers can then return the product to the place of purchase or call Fun Stuff at (888) 386-7833 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET to receive a full reimbursement.
For additional information concerning the recall, consumers may also feel free to visit the company’s Web site at www.funstuffinc.net.
