Oct 19, 2010 /EIN Presswire/ – As election day approaches, polls show Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer just slightly ahead of her Republican opponent, Carly Fiorina, a political newcomer. Fiornia has matched Boxer in campaign fundraising over the past several months but has an advantage of conservative groups from outside of California pouring millions more into her campaign vault.
While many predicted an easy re-election campaign for one of the Senate’s leading liberals, Boxer faces a battle in a difficult year for Democratic candidates.
Fiorina has repeatedly hammed Boxer over stimulus spending. Boxer argues that the stimulus passed by Congress has had a great impact on California in restoring jobs to the state and preventing a greater economic calamity. Fiorina called Boxer a “spendthrift” for passing the package.
