Oct. 29, 2010 /EIN Presswire/ – A total of 54,000 pounds of ready-to-eat pork products distributed by a California firm has been recalled.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service says the products were not produced in accordance with the company’s food safety plan.

The company is Autentico Foods, of Hawaiian Gardens, California. The USDA said that the company failed to take steps it determined were necessary to produce safe products.

Problems were identified in a USDA audit of company records. The USDA said it uncovered evidence that Autentico Foods’ food safety records didn’t comply with government regulatory standards.
