U.S. – Black raspberries may aid in colorectal cancer prevention. As reported by LiveScience.com, a recent study shows that the berry’s compounds have effectiveness in preventing the disease in mice.
Gary Stoner, a professor at the College of Medicine at the Ohio State University, is quoted by Reuters as stating to MyHealthNewsDaily of the findings, “Due to the high levels of these compounds, the berries have high antioxidant activity.”
More information about the UIC and the National Cancer Institute funded study may be found in the November publication of the Cancer Prevention Research journal.
