Uhlinger Family Launches RelyLocal in Valley Springs, CA
Valley Springs, CA – Monday December 6, 2010 — Valley Springs has become the first community in the Northern California area to join a growing movement to “take back” the economy for small business. RelyLocal is a nationwide grassroots campaign to support local business and keep money in the local community. The Uhlinger Family has acquired the territory rights to RelyLocal in Lodi, Lockeford and Valley Springs, making it the 110th region to join the rapidly expanding list of communities that are part of the effort to strengthen their economy.
Small businesses are the heart of our local economy, and more and more are closing their doors everyday, as local businesses face increasing competition from national chains and “big box” stores. Being locally owned and operated we know what it means to see a local company close its doors…the loss of great products and services, the loss of local jobs, and the loss of tax revenue that funds schools, parks and roads. RelyLocal was created in response to the economic problems facing this country. It is a web-based marketing approach that promotes only locally owned and operated businesses. The idea is simple – buy local and more money stays in the local community. When $100 is spent locally, approximately $68 stays in the community, as opposed to only about $43 when consumers shop with a national company. Thus creating more local jobs and enriching the whole community.
The RelyLocal Web network is a very cost effective marketing approach for even the smallest of local businesses – only 25 dollars a month! When asked about the low monthly costs of RelyLocal, Lenna Uhlinger states, “We are proud to be a part of this movement supporting small businesses with marketing tools that they can afford in today’s environment.” The Uhlinger Family, residents of Valley Springs for over 25 years, is excited to be able to make a difference in their community.
RelyLocal is a small business marketing platform, built around a locals-only directory and integrated with social media promotion, local coupon distribution and co-op advertising for local businesses. “It is important to have our own local search engine that people can go to when searching for local products, services and coupons, as so many people do today,” says Lenna Uhlinger. A related RelyLocal-Lodi, Lockeford and Valley Springs facebook page has already been established, using the power of social media to help develop a real online community for the area. Join the movement, “like” our page and give a shout to your favorite local business.
