Furniture will be Liquidated – Regardless of Cost!
Ann Arbor, Michigan – December 31, 2010 — House of Sofas Furniture is Going Out of Business and will soon close its doors forever!
Founded by Bob and Juanita Murphy in 1983, House of Sofas Furniture has become a local Ann Arbor institution, providing thousands of families with fine home furnishings for decades. They have earned a reputation for attentive service, low prices, and dedication to their customers. The family business started in the Scio Township Old School building built in 1843. In 1985 Bob and Juanita purchased the property next door and built a modern 15,000. sq ft Showroom and then later added an addition to the upper floor. In 1999 Bob Murphy passed away and Juanita and her Son Mathew continued the family business.
Due to family health issues and the struggling economy Juanita and Matt came to the difficult decision to close the store. The decision to close the store was made by Juanita and her son Matt, who have revealed plans for the store closing event to take place in the coming weeks.
“The House of Sofas going-out-of-business total liquidation will begin on January 1st”, said Juanita Murphy owner of the business. Murphy went on to say, “We have reductions of up to 75% on every item in the store from such well-known manufacturers as Lane, Ashley, Englander, American, Home Elegance and many others. Over $2 million at cost will be sold as quickly as possible at the lowest prices in the store’s history.”
Juanita continued, “Every item in the House of Sofas multi-million dollar inventory will be sold, regardless of cost…This is a wall-to-wall total liquidation.” “The decision to close the store has been a difficult one. We are a part of the neighborhood in Ann Arbor and we have loved being a part of so many families’ lives. There comes a time to move on, while we can still offer our customers the quality merchandise and service we’re known for,” said Matt Murphy. He went on to assure current customers that House of Sofas will take care of all existing customers needs. According to the Murphy’s, the total liquidation event will allow them and their employees one final chance to serve area residents and to say “Thanks for the memories”. Juanita continued saying:, “We have been so gratified by the wonderful support our customers have given us. That’s why we’ve decided to have this limited time going-out-of-business total liquidation where we can offer our customers price reductions unlike any we’ve ever had in the store’s history. This event will give the area residents the opportunity of a lifetime to own fine home furnishings at savings, as never before. It will be our way of saying, ‘thanks’.
