Dana Point, CA—About 7,000 Cool-it Soother by Vuli were voluntarily recalled by Calisson Inc. and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) over ingestion hazards. The CPSC announced the recall on January 12, 2011.
The recall was initiated after discovering that if the teething ring were to become punctured, it can allow bacteria and mold to grow inside the teether’s untreated liquid, posing an ingestion hazard to infants. Ingestion can lead to diarrhea and vomiting.
The CPSC reported, “The Cool-it Soother teething ring is clear and is attached to a green plastic handle in the shape of the character ‘Gnon.’”
Consumers are advised to return the teething ring to Calisson for a free replacement teething ring.
