Rosemead, CA—Police are looking for the motorist who hit a woman, and then drove away from the scene, leaving her to die on Monday January 31, 2011. The hit-and-run occurred around 10:30 p.m., as the victim was crossing Walnut Grove Avenue, just north of Marshall Street, as reported by KTLA.
L.A. County Sheriff’s officials reported that 19-year-old Yihng Ma, was hit as she was crossing the street. Two people witnessed the incident and described the vehicle as a new white or gray van SUV.
Ma died before emergency rescue crews could arrive at the scene and administer aid.
The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone who witnessed the accident or knows of a vehicle that fits the description with front end damage to call the L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept.
A full investigation is underway.
