Mill Valley, CA—The Perfect Pullup was voluntarily recalled by Perfect Fitness and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) for fall injury hazards the product poses. The CPSC announced the product recall on February 17, 2011.

The product recall was initiated after discovering that the plastic handle on the Perfect Pullup can crack, which poses a fall injury hazard to the user.

“This recall involves Perfect Pullup, an adjustable height pull-up bar that is installed in a doorway with screw-in holders. The recalled handles have a rectangular shape, are silver colored with a red hook, and display the Perfect Pullup logo in white lettering across the top. The recalled models were manufactured between December 2007 and April 2008,” reported the CPSC press release.

Consumers are advised to contact Perfect Fitness to order a free handle replacement kit.

For more information concerning the product recall, consumers can contact Perfect Fitness at toll-free at (877) 974-7733 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit their website at www.perfectonline.com/handleexchange.
