Williamston, NC—A couple enjoying the Old Ford Fire Department Rodeo in Williamston was injured when a bull jumped into the audience during the show. The accident occurred on Saturday, February 19, 2011, at the Senator Bob Martin Eastern Agricultural Center, as reported by WITN.
According to eyewitnesses, as the bull was being rounded up after the rider fell off, the bull jumped 5-feet into the stands. The bull then promptly jumped back into the ring, where officials where able to control the animal.
A man tried to knock his wife out of the way of the charging bull, but they were both injured in the incident. EMT’s at the rodeo treated the couple for their injuries. They both received leg and foot injuries, and were able to drive themselves home from the hospital.
The Department for Agriculture is investigating the accident.
