Northbrook, IL– About 9,700 “Camp Nod” lantern nightlights were voluntarily recalled for fire and shock hazards by The Land of Nod and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The product recall was announced by the CPSC on March 10, 2011.

The product recall was issued after discovering that an electrical short can occur in the nightlight’s wiring, which can pose a risk of fire or shock hazard to consumers.

“This recall involves ‘Camp Nod’ electric lantern nightlights. The red or blue cylindrical-shaped metal lanterns have a glass bulb cover. The lantern nightlights measure about 9.75 inches in height and about 4 inches in diameter. The lanterns have either a barbell tag on the cord that includes item number 0603041-RE (red) or 0603041-BL (blue), or a tag affixed to the underside of the lantern that includes the words ‘The Land of Nod,’” reported the CPSC press release.

Consumers are advised to return the nightlights to The Land of Nod to receive a merchandise credit for the purchase price of the product.

For more information concerning the recall, consumers can contact The Land of Nod at (800) 933-9904 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, visit their website at www.landofnod.com, or email The Land of Nod at recall@landofnod.com.
