Grenada, MS — ADP FOA series unit heaters were voluntarily recalled by Advanced Distributor Products (ADP) LLC and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) for fire hazards the heaters pose. The CPSC announced the product recall on April 14, 2011.

The product recall was issued after discovering that some heaters are manufactured without a required flame rollout switch, which is a back-up device that shuts down the heater in the event of a heater failure. This can create a fire hazard.

“This recall involves ADP FOA series unit heaters with heating capacity, model and serial numbers listed below. These unit heaters are separated combustion and gas-fired. The brand name ‘ADP’, the model number and the serial number can be found on the nameplate located inside the control cabinet,” reported the CPSC press release.
