Seattle, WA — El Gringo Imports and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) have voluntarily recalled girl’s hooded sweaters with drawstring for strangulation and entrapment hazards. The CPSC announced the product recall on May 3, 2011.
The product recall was issued after discovering that the drawstring in the hooded sweaters can pose a strangulation or entrapment hazard to children.
“The recalled product is a hand-knitted wool sweater with a hood in sizes 1 through 10. The sweater has a drawstring in the hood with multi-colored yarn tassels. The sweaters are multi-colored with a front zipper. ‘El Gringo Imports’ is written on a black neck tag,” reported the CPSC press release.
Consumers are advised to contact El Gringo imports for instruction on how to receive a full refund. In the meantime, parents should remove the drawstring to eliminate the hazard.
