Dallas, TX — A trucker was seriously injured when he was crushed by four 2,100-pound pipes in Allen. The work-related accident occurred at a construction site south of Allen Drive and U.S. 75, Tuesday morning, May 9, 2011, reported the Courier-Gazette.

According to the Allen Fire Department, a truck driver, who remains unidentified, was unloading the pipes from his truck when they rolled on top of him.

Rescue crews were able to remove the pipes from on top of the trucker’s body, and pulled him to safety. He was then rushed by Care-Flite helicopter to Parkland Hospital for treatment of severe injuries.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.

Officials with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are expected to arrive at the scene to conduct a full investigation into the work-related accident.
