East Donegal Township, PA — A work-related accident claimed the life of an employee of Edie Waste Inc. Wednesday morning, June 8, 2011. The fatal work-related accident occurred just before 11 a.m., at Edie Waste’s 1555 River Road location in East Donegal Township, reported LancasterOnline.com.
According to Susquehanna Regional police, Antonio Valentin Jr., 48, of Marietta, was found by another co-worker underneath a vehicle that he was working on in a garage at the waste facility. Valentin was employed as a mechanic at Edie Waste.
Responding emergency crews were called to the scene, where county Deputy coroner Kristen Rutt pronounced Valentin dead.
At this time it is unknown what caused Valentin to become trapped underneath the vehicle.
Police reported that their investigations made no indication that a crime took place.
A full investigation into the work-related accident is underway. OSHA is also expected to conduct an investigation of its own.
