Beckerman Institutional Offering Investment Model on Covestor Selects Mirrored Investing Firm Platform over Starting Mutual Fund
NEW YORK, NY (WiredPRNews.com) Beckerman Institutional has launched a Flexible Value investment model on Covestor (http://covestor.com), the mirrored investing platform that enables people to replicate the trading strategies of proven investors.
Covestor brings the type of investing expertise once reserved for high-net-worth investors to everyday people. Covestor customers can subscribe to Beckerman’s Flexible Value with a minimum subscription of just $5,000.
“When we looked to offer our strategy to a retail audience, we considered several other options, including starting a hedge fund, mutual fund, or exchange traded fund,” said Daniel Beckerman, president of the New Jersey registered investment advisor, whose goal is to provide institutional quality financial services to clients.
Covestor provides other registered investment advisors and non-professional investors with the infrastructure needed to offer investment models online, including technology, and marketing.
“We want to focus on our investment strategy, rather than spending time on nuts and bolts,” Beckerman said.
With Covestor, individual investors can see what decisions are being made with their money anytime. This level of transparency is not available with mutual funds or hedge funds. The company simplifies investing by providing tools and information on its website, including performance data and relevant benchmarks. These benefits have helped Covestor attract more than 125 model managers and build a rapidly growing customer base.
“Before the dawn of the internet era, we might have launched our strategy as a hedge fund. However, when you add in all of the start-up expenses, we would have been forced to pass some of those costs on to the end investor,” Beckerman said.
Being able to offer clients institutional level products is part of Covestor’s drive to democratize investing, according to Perry Blacher, the company’s CEO. “No longer do people need to be millionaires to have access to proven investment strategies,” he said.
