/EINPresswire.com/ BOSTON, MA – August 5, 2011 — Soccer enthusiasts around Boston are gearing up for the 7th Annual America SCORES Cup Tournament. Unlike other soccer events, this Tournament provides an excellent opportunity for companies to show off their soccer skills and have a fun filled day, watch the New England Revolution and support inner-city youth. The Tournament will take place on Saturday, August 6, 2011 from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm at Gillette Stadium.
The competition amongst the teams is already underway off the field. Through a partnership with Razoo.com, 6 teams have already raised over $36,000 in online donations for the America SCORES Cup Boston event. To learn more about the event and to get involved visit www.razoo.com/p/americascores.
The Tournament benefits over 1500 Boston elementary and middle school students through SCORES innovative after-school and summer programs. SCORES is now the largest school-base after-school program in Boston Public Schools. The SCORES Cup event provides 15% of the organizations annual budget which went a long way to supporting SCORES inner-city youth. The 2011 SCORES Cup will gross over $180,000.
The SCORES Cup is a 28-team tournament. Coed teams challenge each other with 7-v-7, each playing a minimum of four and up to seven 25-minute games. Each team has its eye on the Seventh SCORES Cup.
Several non-corporate sponsored teams, manage to raise the $6,000 entry fee all through individual donations by using the Razoo online fundraising site.

Lee Partners, UBS, Underhills.
The impact that America SCORES has on Boston is making a difference. America SCORES Boston currently has a total of 44 teams in 11 elementary schools, 9 middle schools and 1 k-8 school.
America SCORES is proving to be an effective intervention in addressing the national epidemics of childhood obesity, low literacy, and violence.
Student-Athlete outcomes have shown:
– 61% increase in cardiovascular capacity
– 22% increase in reading confidence
– 96% of student-athletes read more
– 91% of participants increase effort at school
