Construction Worker Severely Shocked in WVU Construction Accident

08/05/2011 // WPB, FL, USA // Personal Injury Lawyers News // Nicole Howley

Morgantown, WV — A construction worker is recovering after being severely shocked at a West Virginia University construction site Thursday, August 4, 2011. The construction accident occurred at the new soccer practice facility on Monongahela Boulevard around noon, reported the State Journal.

According to Morgantown Fire Department officials, the male construction worker, who is in his mid-20’s, was by himself on top of an eight foot ladder at the construction site, when another work noticed that his legs were shaking.

The coworker pulled the man from the ladder, after discovering that he was unresponsive.

Responding fire fighters said the victim had burn marks and other injuries related to an electrical shock. He was rushed to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries, before being released.

Investigations are underway. It is unknown how the worker came into contact with the electrical source.

It was not reported if the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) would be investigating the construction accident.
