08/12/2011 // WPB, FL, USA // Personal Injury Lawyers News // Nicole Howley

Aston, PA — A work-related accident at the Southwest Delaware County Municipal Authority’s Team Road pumping station killed one sewer worker and injured another Thursday, August 12, 2011. The fatal work-related accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. at a wet well at the pumping station, reported the Delaware County Times.

According to a Southwest Delaware County Municipal Authority press release, a 13-year employee Larry Fisher was with another worker in the wet well to clean a valve when the accident occurred. Fisher and the other man fell unconscious while in the well.

Responding emergency crews removed the two men from the well, and pronounced Fisher dead. The surviving worker was rushed to Crozer-Chester Medical Center for treatment and was released Thursday afternoon. His identity is being withheld at this time.

The Aston police are investigating the fatal work-related accident. The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are expected to investigate the accident as well.
