/EINPresswire.com/ IT Governance Ltd, the global leader in IT governance training, consultancy, books and tools, has announced that they have partnered with Infonomics Pty Ltd (Australia), in order to deliver the first ever ISO 38500 Foundation training course to be held in the UK (www.itgovernance.co.uk/products/3555).
Awareness of corporate governance has increased in the boardroom of UK companies, but awareness of the responsibilities of the governance of IT remains undeveloped. Although IT governance is recognised as a key driver in ensuring a competitive advantage and a return on capital investment in information technology, it is not well understood by chairmen, company directors and top level management. Clearly, there is a need for specialist training that will provide businesses and IT leaders with the knowledge and understanding of the key IT governance principles, and their implementation in accordance with international standards and best practice.
The internationally recognised ISO 38500 standard is a milestone in the evolution of concepts and practices for governance of IT. Published as a Code of Practice, ISO 38500 provides guidance to help directors take direct action to apply core IT governance principles to all aspects of the information technology used within their organisation.
With the IT governance professionals in mind, IT Governance is partnering with Infonomics Pty Ltd to deliver the unique ISO 38500 Foundation training course (www.itgovernance.co.uk/products/3555) which is to be held in London on October 3-4 for the first time in the UK. The course will be presented by Mark Toomey, an internationally recognised leading expert in the governance of information technology and ISO/IEC 38500.
The ISO 38500 Foundation training course (www.itgovernance.co.uk/products/3555) is designed to build a deep appreciation of the key concepts in ISO 38500, equipping participants with the understanding necessary to begin applying the standard in all aspects of planning and controlling the use and delivery of IT. It explains in detail the concepts presented in the Introduction, the governance model and the six principles for good governance of IT.
During the course, delegates have the opportunity to complete a unique individual 84-point self-assessment of their organisation’s own governance of IT. The self-assessment results are modelled and discussed within the class-room to provide a basis for further planning and implementation within each delegate’s organisation.
Organisations can book delegates onto the ISO 38500 Foundation training course online here www.itgovernance.co.uk/products/3555 . Course places can also be booked directly with the friendly, helpful IT Governance service centre team on telephone number +44 (0)845 070 1750. Larger organisations can make bookings or purchases with a Purchase Order either by telephone or by email to servicecentre@itgovernance.co.uk. We also welcome overseas delegates to all our courses and can provide guidance on travel and hotel arrangements.
