The 2nd Annual Green City Challenge Race and Family Expo is scheduled for October 23rd, 2011 at Union Square Park from 11:00am-6:00pm. This event continues to lead the way for New York residents to learn how to live, work, and eat “GREEN” in an urban environment.
Online submissions are already being accepted for Challengers to compete in the highly anticipated bike race where the chosen ten teams of two will travel around Lower Manhattan competing in “GREEN” challenges at some incredible local businesses demonstrating their “GREEN” knowledge!
Registration is FREE but each team is required to meet a fundraising commitment of $200 minimum to help further GCC’s goals. Any donations collected are acknowledged as contributions and are tax-deductible for the donors. Green City Challenge is a not-for-profit 501c3. Additional points will be awarded based on total amount of funds raised by a team. Those extra points could be what breaks a tie or puts you ahead of another close running team. Once the winners of the contest are chosen GCC will support all teams in their fundraising efforts and preparations for the GCC Race 2011.
