08/23/2011 // WPB, FL, USA // Personal Injury Lawyers News // Nicole Howley

St. Louis, MO — An industrial accident has claimed the life of a 31-year-old Collinsville man whose legs were caught in a conveyor belt at a concrete business. The fatal industrial accident occurred on Monday, August 22, 2011 at around 2:22 p.m. at Swansea Building Products Corp., located at 494 N. 33rd St., reported BND.com.

According to police, the victim was working as a temporary employee at the concrete company when his leg somehow became caught in a vertical conveyor belt, which sand is loaded on.

Responding rescue crews worked to free the man, but ended up having to cut him out of the belt. It is not immediately known how the worker became caught in the conveyor belt.

The victim, who remains unidentified, died as a result of the injuries he sustained, reported police Cpt. Bobby Cole.

A full investigation into the industrial accident is underway. The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are at the scene, investigating the fatal industrial accident.
