University of Iowa Cambus hits Pedestrian, Suffers ‘Significant Injury’

09/23/2011 // WPB, FL, USA // Injury Lawyers News // Nicole Howley

Iowa City, IA — A bus accident on the campus of the University of Iowa left a 20-year-old pedestrian with “significant injuries” on Thursday, September 22, 2011. The bus accident, which involved a University of Iowa Cambus, occurred at around 10:09 a.m. on the 200 block of Madison Street, reported the Press-Citizen.

Iowa City police reported that the bus was traveling less than 10 miles-per-hour on southbound Madison Street and had stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Madison and Washington streets. As the bus entered the intersection, it collided with the woman.

None of the students on the bus were injured in the collision.

Iowa City police revealed that the woman was alert and spoke to police following the pedestrian accident. She was then rushed by ambulance to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinic for treatment of “significant injuries.”

The Cambus was reportedly headed to a temporary School of Music location on the corner of Clinton and Court streets when the accident occurred.

Iowa City police and Cambus are investigating the bus accident.
