Patti LaBelle Sued for Throwing Water, Swearing at Toddler

11/15/2011 // WPB, FL, USA // Injury Lawyers News // Nicole Howley

New York, NY — Singer Patti LaBelle is facing legal action filed by a New York couple who claim LaBelle unleashed her diva-like behavior on their toddler in the apartment building she was staying in last year, reported the Washington Post.

The plaintiffs, Kevin and Roseanna Monk, live in the same apartment building as the one Patti LaBelle was staying in during her Broadway run last year, according to reports.

The plaintiffs assert that during a November afternoon, the Monk’s toddler walked away from Roseanna as she was leaving the building’s lobby with luggage and a car seat in her hands. Because the toddler got away from Roseanna while she was trying to juggle the baggage, LaBelle allegedly gave a critical comment to Roseanna.

“What are you doing letting your kid run around like that?” LaBelle reportedly said, the Gossip Cop reported.

Roseanna replied by telling the singer to mind her own business, which prompted LaBelle to swear at them and throw half a bottle of water on the mother and child.

LaBelle then allegedly tried to hit Roseanna, the plaintiff claims.

Lawyers representing the Monks say they asked LaBelle for an apology and a charitable donation, and are now asking unspecified damages.
