Things are getting tougher for Full Tilt Poker as the company announced that talks with potential investors have failed to materialize.
/EINPresswire.com/ Online poker players in the US, especially those who used to play online poker at the site Full Tilt Poker, which was forcibly shut down by the US government, are angered by the latest news from the online poker company. There was much anticipation that Pockets Kings, owner of Full Tilt Poker, is in talks with foreign investors over the possibility of selling the brand. But now, a statement was released stating that talks with the investor failed to materialize and that the deal was dropped. PlayPokerOnline.com reveals more about the tension in the online poker circle.
The statement released by Pocket Kings stated that the company had concluded the exclusivity period of negotiations with its present investors. The statement also revealed that although the company plans to hold further negotiations with the current investor, it has also entered into talks with other potential investors so as to reach a conclusion about a possible partnership or sale of the Full Tilt Poker brand.
What further fueled the anger was the fact that Jeff Ifrah, Full Tilt Poker’s lawyer, had asked that the Alderney Gaming Commission yet again postpone the hearing from September 15, which was already postponed from July 26. He cited that the reason for the postponement was that the company did not want to attend the hearing without a finalized or close to finalized deal. At the July 26 meeting, the company had given the same excuse and also added the hearing, when held on September 15, would take place behind closed doors.
With this news already out, insiders in the online poker community have decided that Full Tilt Poker is on the brink of closing permanently. With Full Tilt Poker already owing around $1.5 million to customers who used to play poker online at their site, the atmosphere in the online poker circuit is tense. The online poker site also has three impending lawsuits, one from the US Department of Justice and two from other private investors. The company’s silence on further questions raised by the online poker community has not inspired any confidence either.
