Chicago, IL — A demolition accident on the South Side left a construction worker dead on Wednesday, November 16, 2011. The fatal work-related accident occurred just before 9 a.m., at 11 E. 79th Street when a piece of a concrete beam fell onto the worker, reported the Chicago Tribune.

Responding emergency crews pronounced the victim—a male—dead at the scene, reported NBC Chicago. His identity is being withheld at this time.

Another man was reportedly working with the victim, but he was not injured.
