2 Pit Bulls Attack, Drag Colorado Woman by her Hair

12/06/2011 // WPB, FL, USA // Injury Lawyers News // Nicole Howley

Pueblo, CO — Two pit bulls attacked a Pueblo woman Monday morning, December 5, 2011, dragging her by her hair near 1 Alamo Road, reported KRDO.

Pueblo Police reported that the pit bulls, one male and one female, attacked the woman so badly that a piece of the woman’s scalp was found by witnesses at the scene.

Witnesses were able to scare away the dogs and call police for help.

Responding emergency crews rushed the woman to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries to her head. She is expected to survive the ordeal.

The two dogs were detained with the help of Pueblo Police and the Pueblo Animal Services Animal Law Enforcement Officers (ALE). They were found in a pen near the scene, along with two pit bull puppies.

The adult dogs are believed to be the parents of the puppies, and are currently under quarantine at the Pueblo Animal Services shelter.

The owner of the dogs, Paul Anthony Rodriguez, was issued a summons and charged with two counts of Unlawful Ownership of a Dangerous Dog. Rodriguez has 10 days to pay $600 bond on each animal, while he awaits trial.

Investigations into the dog attack are underway
