Cincinnati, OH — A school bus and a car collided Thursday morning, January 19, 2012, injuring three adults and three children. The school bus accident occurred in the 5500 block of Winneste Avenue in Winton Hills, reported Cincinnati.com.
Although Cincinnati police are still investigating the crash, they believe the driver of the car lost control of his vehicle as it was coming down a hill when it crossed the centerline and crashed into the bus.
The car was found wedged underneath the bus.
Responding emergency crews had to use the Jaws of Life to rescue the driver of the vehicle. The driver of the car, a 27-year-old man, sustained life-threatening injuries in the wreck, and was rushed to University Hospital in critical condition.
A fourth-grader, a fifth-grader and a kindergartner were not hurt, but were taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center as a precaution.
The school bus driver and a driver’s aide sustained minor injuries and were taken to University Hospital as a precaution.
The school bus was a First Student bus, who was transporting students to Roll Hill Academy on Baltimore Avenue in North Fairmount.
The Cincinnati police are investigating.
