Medical transport company contributes portion of income for February to heart-related non-profit organizations.
/EINPresswire.com/ Phoenix, AZ – Mercy Jets has announced it will make contributions to heart-related charities during the month of February. In honor of Heart Month, the air ambulance transportation and medical escort company is placing a special focus on cardiac and heart-related health.
While the medical transport provider regularly donates a portion of its income to non-profit organizations, Mercy Jets will donate twice that amount during Heart Month, with the additional portion directed toward several heart-related charities.
“Many of the non-profit groups we contribute to on a regular basis are instrumental in educating people about the warning signs of heart-related emergencies and how to better take care of their hearts,” said John Bohn, president of Mercy Jets. “Simple things such as getting regular exercise and eating right can make the difference between leading a normal life and having heart disease or cardiac arrest.”
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one in three deaths in the U.S. is from heart disease and stroke. More than 2 million people nationwide have heart attacks or strokes each year.
“When it comes to heart-related emergencies, timing in transport is critical,” said Bohn. “Many of our transport patients are in need of cardiac care, so we see the need for heart-related education and assistance first-hand. This is our way of helping a very good cause.”
