Kardashians Face $5M Lawsuit Claiming QuickTrim Diet Pills Don’t Work

03/02/2012 // WPB, FL, USA // Injury Lawyers News // Nicole Howley

New York, NY — The Kardashian sisters are facing a $5 million lawsuit filed by disgruntled customers, who claim the over-the-counter diet pills the sisters have been promoting did not work, and only bought them because of the Kardashian’s endorsement, reports MyFoxNY.com.

Four customers filed the $5 million class-action lawsuit Thursday, March 1, 2012, which named Kim Kardashian and her sisters, Khloe and Kourtney as the defendants.

The lawsuit, which was filed in the Manhattan federal court, claims that Quicktrim is “marketed by the defendants as a clinically proven formula that will increase metabolism, curb appetite and promote weight loss.”

“In reality, QuickTrim’s main ingredient is a large dose of caffeine, which the FDA [Food and Drug Administration] has determined is not a safe or effective treatment for weight control,” the lawsuit asserts.

The suit also noted that the QuickTrim product ads “generally feature…photos of one or more of the Kardashian sisters in a bikini or other revealing attire.”

Kim, Khloe and Kourtney have been advertising and promoting the product since 2009.

The Kardashians have not made a comment regarding the lawsuit.
