/EINPresswire.com/ PHOENIX, Ariz. — Lost Our Home Pet Foundation, a leading non-profit organization founded by Real Estate professionals to help the thousands of pets directly affected by the foreclosure crisis, announces the opening of its new shelter conveniently located in North Phoenix.
Founded in 2008 during the mortgage meltdown, in just 3.5 years Lost Our Home Pet Foundation, a no kill pet rescue, has taken in almost 2,000 pets through their rescue program and Temporary Care Program, and has fed over 8500 more pets through their Pet Food Bank. Quite a feat to do, but imagine they did all that without evening having an office or shelter to work out of.
“This is an exciting time of growth for Lost Our Home Pet Foundation”, said Jodi Polanski, Founder and Executive Director of Lost Our Home. “We are so proud of our new shelter, which may be small in size, but it’s big in benefits as it opens up a new world of opportunities for us to do even more, and be better at it.”
The launch of the new facility allows Lost Our Home to accommodate pets and the public in a number of new ways. It will allow a place for the intake of homeless pets rescued from foreclosed homes. Very important it will be a location for the public to view and conduct pet adoptions. The shelter will be a work place for the passionate volunteers to do administration work and hold training programs. And something they are very much looking forward to… a place for their Pet Food Bank.
“We couldn’t have done it without the support of our volunteers, donors and the community, this truly is a community coming together to help open this shelter” said Polanski.
Almost all of the construction work, materials and furniture have been donated, but they still need donations for dog kennels, construction materials, locking storage cabinets, display case, a security system, 2 desks and various other items. “Crunch time is now”, said Polanski, “so you ever thought about helping homeless pets or you already do and wants to make a bigger difference, now is the time to do it. Every single contribution, large or small makes a difference.”
Pets are truly the innocent victims of the financial crisis, for no fault of their own they are losing both their homes and families because of financial hardships. Now that Lost Our Home Pet Foundation has a “home” of their own, many more of these pets will be given a chance at life again. To help by making a donation please visit www.lostourhome.org
