Lansing, MI — An 18-year-old Ann Arbor woman was seriously injured after she plummeted six stories from a dorm window at Michigan State University. The woman fell from a lounge window on the sixth floor of North Case Hall at around 3 a.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2012, MLive.com reports.

Alexandra Pew, who is not an MSU student, was visiting friends at the university when the accident occurred.

Pew was reportedly playing a game of catch with several residents in the sixth-floor lounge when she fell backward. Pew broke through the window and fell six stories to the ground below.

Responding emergency crews transported Pew to Sparrow Hospital for medical treatment. Pew has since been upgraded from critical condition to serious condition on Wednesday.

Pew has undergone two surgeries to repair broken bones. Drug and alcohol tests were negative.

Police do not suspect any suspicious activity related to the accident.

Inspectors stated that the window Pew fell through was structurally sound.

Investigations are ongoing.
