As part of a pledge to aid developing nations in creating self sustainable communities, Stephen Dattels has made his yearly donation to the CGSGI. Stephen Dattels has committed five years of monetary donations to the efforts of the CGSGI.

The Canadian charity, also known as CGSGI, was established in 2007 as a means to bring a higher quality of life to developing nations by eliminating poverty, improving health care, advancing education and reforming the environment.
The focus of the CGSGI is to help developing nations establish self-sustainable economies by creating jobs and increasing incomes. To do this, many factors that enable economic growth must be stabilized and strengthened, such as health care and education.
