Once again MINI Cooper has outdone themselves with the creation of the newly announced MINI John Cooper Works GP. This little car packs a big punch when it comes to high-end performance and sleek design. Hitting the market for model year 2013, only 2,000 MINI John Cooper Works GP will be produced.
The MINI John Cooper Works GP, also known as the MINI JCW GP, will be the fastest production MINI Cooper car ever built – clocking in a full 19 seconds quicker than the previous MINI JCW GP which was made in 2006 to commemorate the end of the first generation of MINI Cooper developed by BMW.
To increase the MINI Cooper’s power the back seat was removed as a weight saving measure. According to Peter Maldonado, Sales Manager for Crevier MINI Cooper dealer, the car will also have an adjustable race suspension system, race-spec brakes, custom track tires along with a large nose, tail aprons, side skirts, unique roof spoiler and rear diffuser to aid in the aerodynamic body, all of which was specially designed for the MINI Cooper.
“It is still unknown just how many of the 2,000 MINI John Cooper Works GP will end up on the US market, or exactly what the new MINI Cooper will cost,” reports Peter. “Regardless, this is the sportiest road-registered MINI ever made and a must have for those with a need for speed.”
First to publically see the Mini John Cooper Works GP were those in attendance at Le Castellet in France during the MINI United festival. Reviews generated at the event only add to the anticipation of the MINI Cooper’s release.
