… To Rebuild The Korebel School In Port-Au-Prince And Empower The Youths Of Haiti Through Education.
/EINPresswire.com/ BROOKLYN, NY – June 15, 2012 — Konbit pou Rebati Bèlè (KOREBEL, which means “Team to Rebuild Bel Air” in Kreole) announced today its second Benefit Gala to be held on June, 23rd, 2012, from 8pm to 2am, at Adria Hotel, in Bayside, NY.
Proceeds from the Benefit Gala, will help KOREBEL School, to continue providing quality education to over 650 students in Bel Air, the historic yet impoverished neighborhood of downtown Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
On January 12th, 2010 an earthquake devastated Haiti’s capital, claiming the lives of more than 200,000 people and destroying the majority of infrastructure. The earthquake completely destroyed the KOREBEL School building and cafeteria . Despite these harsh conditions, three months after the earthquake, KOREBEL School reopened to both improve Bel Air’s children’s well-being by re-establishing a sense of normalcy and to limit their academic loss.
“The event,” says KOREBEL Founder Jean-Claude Denis, “will bring together friends of KOREBEL to raise funds to ” Rebuild Korebel School & Empower the disadvantaged youths of Haiti through education”.
A wonderful evening of dinner, drinks, and entertainment provided by local Haitian American musicians, the second KOREBEL Foundation Benefit Gala aims to raise $ 25,000 to improve the material infrastructure of the current temporary school building and support operating costs for the 2012-2013 academic year.
