/EINPresswire.com/ Florida lapidary artist and jeweler Angie Howard offers tip sheet after testing waters of celebrity gifting with business cards in swag bags at GBK’s Celebrity Gift Lounge for the 2012 MTV Movie Awards.
Orlando, Florida lapidary artist and jeweler Angie Howard, owner of Angie’s Jewelry Design (http://www.angiesjewelrydesign.com), recently tested the waters of celebrity gifting when she included business cards in 100 swag bags at GBK’s Celebrity Gift Lounge for the 2012 MTV Movie Awards on June 1-2. Several weeks post-event, she has issued a tip sheet that will help artisans make the most of this kind of opportunity.
Howard views celebrity gifting as a powerful marketing tool and is experimenting with various approaches. “Not everyone has the time or can afford to create large numbers of individually handcrafted pieces to include in gift lounge swag bags,” said Howard. “Fortunately, some art promotions organizations like The Artisan Group out of California, who I worked with, offer a variety of participation levels such as including business cards only.” Howard believes this option gains the artist exposure in an inexpensive and time efficient way. “The thing I’ve learned though is that it’s not enough to just include your cards and wait for the phone to ring.”
Based on her own experience and that of others, Howard is sharing five easy to carry out ideas she believes will help artisans get the most out of their business card gifting experience. To read the tip sheet, visit Angie’s blog at: http://www.angiesjewelrydesign.com/angies-blog/2406/.
Howard, a former theatrical producer and self-taught lapidary artist and jeweler, creates bold and elegant wire wrapped gemstone pendants that showcase natural stones she cuts and polishes at her home studio/workshop in Orlando, Florida.
Howard has previously gifted singer Jordin Sparks a purple Sugilite pendant. Producer Tyra Banks will soon be receiving a pendant Howard created from a hand cut Ohio flint that she obtained from well-known flint knapping expert Roy Miller when she visited his Ohio workshop. The flint has a beautiful array of colors and is in a shape Howard describes as protective and “almost like a shield.” The pendant hangs on a chain that Howard fashioned by fusing Argentium sterling silver links.
