A new parcel delivery service that allows consumers to pick-up and drop-off packages quickly and easily has been launched at one of the UK’s major shopping centres.
Courier firm CollectPlus has teamed up with Meadowhall shopping centre near Sheffield, and is now offering visitors and staff the opportunity to have goods sent directly to its new CollectPlus counter. According to firms, the thinking behind the tie-up is that the service will offer people more choice, and make it quicker and simpler than ever to collect and drop-off parcels. The service also removes the need for people to make extra journeys to parcel depots when they have been unable to take delivery of a package at home.
“Flexibility is the watchword, and there is no doubting that the demand for this kind of service is there,” said Richard Mercer, marketing director at Parcel2Go.
“The appeal of online shopping is continuing to spread like wildfire and that means an increasing number of packages are being sent to consumers via courier companies. Having a simple drop-off and collect service, such as the pioneering model that has been started at Meadowhall, will undoubtedly make online shopping more convenient for consumers and that kind of initiative has to be applauded.”
Parcel2Go offers easy access to the CollectPlus network. Simply make a booking through the website and print off a label to attach to your package. The consignment can then be dropped off at one of more than 4,700 CollectPlus stores located across the UK, all of which are open early until late and often, seven days a week.
