/EINPresswire.com/ HUMAN Healthy Vending has moved to a 9,000 sq ft., one-of-a-kind, creative office space in Culver City. Co-founders Sean Kelly and Andy Mackensen are transforming the new space into a hub for social entrepreneurship, nutrition activism and entrepreneurial development.
If creativity breeds innovation, then the most innovative companies should have the most creative office spaces. This is why HUMAN Healthy Vending (http://www.healthyvending.com) — the country’s leading healthy vending machine franchisor – made the move from its Santa Monica, Calif. offices on the beach to a 9,000 sq ft., one-of-a-kind creative office space in Culver City, Calif. Co-founders Sean Kelly and Andy Mackensen are transforming the new space into a hub for social entrepreneurship, nutrition activism and entrepreneurial development.
Visitors will find that HUMAN’s headquarters exhibits the same fast-paced and fun energy exhibited by HUMAN’s co-founders – two Gen Y social entrepreneurs who started the business to fill what they saw as an awful void in the market: the lack of access to convenient healthy food. HUMAN is serious about its vision to make healthy food more convenient than junk food, but it’s equally “serious” about having fun, feeling fulfilled, and constantly feeling a sense of progress and development. From the moment a person steps foot in HUMAN’s new space, he or she can feel what the company believes. This was very important to Sean and Andy.
Since HUMAN is a health-focused company, HUMAN employees are encouraged to make healthful choices throughout the day. For example, employees can be found using stand-up desks instead of sitting in chairs and, during breaks or after hours, team members can be found playing ping pong, grilling at the BBQ on the outdoor sun deck, or working out together in intense Cross Fit-style groups. For mental health and stimulation, HUMAN requires the entire team to participate in weekly self-development sessions in the company’s training theater as well as “crush it” calls focused exclusively on employee accomplishments and gratitude. The company has also opened up its space for other entrepreneurs to experience, host events, and enjoy.
“We want our space to be known as a breeding ground for social impact and entrepreneurial development,” said Sean Kelly, CEO and co-founder of HUMAN Healthy Vending. “We designed the office to be an open space where employees can engage and converse freely while also encouraging concentration and innovation by having separate rooms that are conducive to what we call ‘crushing it’ and getting stuff done. We’ll be using this space to interact with Southern California’s top entrepreneurs, charities, social enterprises and nutrition activists.”
True to form, HUMAN’s headquarters are home to many of the innovative machines in HUMAN’s fleet, including the “Joe HUMAN” – a healthy coffee machine, which grinds fresh, organic and fair-trade coffee beans for each cup – and the “Media Mogul,” which features a 23″ LCD screen that streams digital nutrition information. It is rare for convenience and mindfulness to co-exist, but the HUMAN fleet provides the perfect mix of eco-consciousness, accessibility and affordability.
A few of HUMAN headquarters’ additional key features include:
The Dream Room
Creativity is not likely to be bred in a cubicle farm, so HUMAN’s co-founders encourage employees to retreat to the Dream Room, the upstairs loft decked out with plush couches, Nintendo Wii video games, and glass on all sides to view the space below.
The Jungle
The jungle is home to HUMAN’s zealous sales team who occupy “Crush Cubes” where they interact, via video conferencing, with schools, hospitals, YMCAs, gyms and corporate locations interested in receiving healthy vending at their location. The sound-proof Crush Cubes will soon be made to look like HUMAN vending machines with the surroundings covered in artificial grass, plants and stuffed animals to embody a true jungle feel.
The Theater
The HUMAN Theater is dedicated to professional training and personal development. For instance, the HUMAN Business-Building Bootcamp, or “HB3,” is a three to four day intensive and interactive entrepreneurship seminar for franchisees that’s held in this space. During its June HB3, HUMAN welcomed over 20 franchisees from seven states across the nation who learned how to expand their business acumen and gained real world insight from existing social entrepreneurs in the field, as well as from seminar break-outs with the HUMAN corporate team.
HUMAN headquarters will be launching its first mixer for nutrition activists, nutrition-focused social entrepreneurs, media and bloggers on September 5th. Interested parties may email Annabel Adams at annabela@healthyvending.com.
