Upon arriving in the intensive care unit, the patient showed serious signs of shock, but the medical team failed to administer the necessary care. One medical professional stated that he reported the patient’s condition to the cardiologist on call, but the cardiologist refuted the statement saying he never received a report of shock. The jury awarded the woman’s estate $6 million because of this devastating medical error. She is survived by a husband and three children.
