Debut music video from Uk’s 2013 breakout star.
The first official video release from J. Appiah is here!
/EINPresswire.com/This amazing take on Prince Nico Mbarga’s, classic African anthem, “Sweet Mother”, is performed by the unsigned singer-songwriter in a way that can be guaranteed has never been heard before; to the sound of his stunning guitar playing, and accompanied by a simple yet slick video.
The Video production is crisp, polished and effective, yet understated with natural and precise use of colour. It represents J. (Jesse) Appiah as an artist – smart, clean and real. A real musician from East London with African heritage, who speaks the same language as artists like Dizzee Rascal and Tinie Tempah. But taking his own distinct approach, with his sweet, soulful voice sliding effortlessly between African, urban and acoustic music.
The song might be an African classic, but the message and melody are universal and listeners don’t have to be African to fall in love with it. “Sweet Mother / I no go forget you / For the suffer wey you suffer for me…”
J. Appiah is already being talked about as one to watch for 2013. The multi instrumentalist has performed with Will Young, Labrinth, The Scissor Sisters and Blur, on major broadcasts such as The Brit Awards, X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, as well as writing and performing the theme song for a TV series in which cameras follow France and QPR football star Djibril Cisse, and can count superstar Wyclef Jean among some of his famous fans (http://tinyurl.com/9gvrvzh).
Now it’s J.Appiah’s time to shine on his own!
