Los Angeles – A judge has removed teen actress Ariel Winter from her home following parental abuse allegations. As reported by TMZ, the 14-year-old’s mother has been accused of physically and emotionally abusing her.
According to TMZ, the teen was placed in the temporary guardianship of her older sister Shanelle Workman after a judge deemed the allegations against her mother, Crystal Workman, were serious in nature during a guardianship hearing last month.
Winter has received a Screen Actors Guild Award for her role as Alex Dunphy on the hit sitcom Modern Family.
A hearing for the case is reportedly set for Nov. 20.
