Detroit – At least three people have died as a result of a chain reaction crash on a Detroit freeway. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the fatal massive pileup occurred on a mile-long stretch of roadway Thursday, with at least 20 people also sustaining injuries in the crash.
Michigan State Police Lt. Michael Shaw is quoted by the AP as stating of the accident, “We’re not sure of the cause… Some witnesses said there were white-out conditions.”
A reported over two dozen vehicles were involved in the mass collision, and numerous others that were not involved were left stuck on the roadway. The freeway could be closed for hours due to the string of accidents, according to Shaw.
