After successful launch of Secrets of Parenting with Love and Logic in December 2012, in February 2013 Tatiana Bandurina released her series of ebooks Little Music Lessons for Kids.
Tatiana Bandurina is a professional music teacher with over 35 years experience. She is also a parent.
“My whole life I have taught children music lessons in Ukraine, in Russia, and now, in Canada,” said Bandurina.
One of the most difficult aspects of music lessons for kids is the understanding of musical theory. Bandurina had heard this from more than one parent whose child had a love for music, so she decided to do something about it.
Little Music Lessons for Kids sees musical theory through the eyes of a very smart puppy in a home of musically talented people. In terms that small children understand and appreciate, the puppy teaches children the fundamentals of music.
“Besides teaching music lessons to kids and helping them learn music theory, the book also helps them learn how to read,” Bandurina added.
Best of all, parents do not need to have an understanding of music to teach children theory. The book does most of the work, but parents are encouraged to read the book with the children and follow the detailed instructions to help kids with the music lessons.
“If your child can count to five, your child has the basis for learning music and music theory,” said Bandurina.
Of course, don’t take her word for it. Here are a few honest testimonials from her Amazon.com page:
•There is a lot of research showing that learning to play a musical instrument helps children with everything from spelling to reading the emotions of other people. That is one big leg up in the world!
•This book has the answer. Instead of asking your small child to sit still for lessons, this gifted teacher shows how to make it fun for them to learn how to read music. She also shows how to reinforce their learning throughout the day, in all kinds of environments. (I bet you didn’t know that you could reinforce a lesson about the staff while putting away silverware!)
• I love that the pictures are separate from the words so I can make the print large enough to see, an issue that has truly disappointed me in other children’s books. I also enjoyed the explanation at the end of the book for parents. Not only does it give insight into the learning process, it lays the whole book out in a way that step-by-step walks you through the most effective way of using the book. I look forward to reading the other installments!
