Madrid – The daughter of Spain’s King Juan Carlos has been charged in connection with a corruption probe linked to her husband. As reported by Reuters, Spain’s Princess Cristina, 47, was charged in a pre-trial investigation Wednesday and has been ordered to appear before a judge on April 27.
Judge Jose Castro has reportedly stated that evidence indicates that the princess acted as an accomplice in some of the crimes her husband Inaki Urdangarin has been accused of including embezzlement and tax fraud.
Manuel Villoria, a corruption expert and professor of political science at King Juan Carlos University, is quoted as stating of the judge’s decision, “He is saying he considers (Cristina) an accomplice, that he (Urdangarin) could not have done it without her. She had knowledge and didn’t put a stop to it.”
