/EINPresswire.com/ Robert J. Tuzzo, CEO and owner of Total Financial Concepts, Inc. has been named to the board of directors of the Jazz Arts Project in Red Bank, New Jersey.
Robert J. Tuzzo, CEO and owner of Total Financial Concepts Inc., has been appointed to the board of directors of the Jazz Arts Project, a Red Bank N.J. non-profit organization that he has had an affiliation with for several years now. Tuzzo is looking forward to his new role and hopes to assist the the Jazz Arts Project with its efforts to expand its visibility and extend its mission to “preserve, promote and perpetuate the American musical art form known as jazz.”
“I believe my experience will certainly help grow the financial arm and sponsorships of the Jazz Arts Project, but my role will not be limited to spreadsheets, ledgers and fund raisers,” said Tuzzo. “I hope to bring new and fresh ideas to the organization that will help us continue to nurture the rising talent of young students interested in learning and preserving the art of jazz music.”
As the owner and CEO of a financial services company and an avid musician, Tuzzo brings a wealth of experience to the table. And, as a lifelong musician and avid supporter of the musical arts in New Jersey, he also has a long history and connection with the Jazz Arts Project, including recent performances alongside the group during its recently held Sixth Annual Annual Frank Sinatra Birthday Bash.
Tuzzo began performing at the age of 10, getting a jump start on a musical career that would eventually lead the singer and drummer to play in some of the hottest nightclubs in New Jersey. From 1972 through 1985 Bob was a member of the popular trio known as FDR Drive and shared concert and venue billing legendary bands such as The Platters, Danny and the Juniors, Len Barry, The Earls, The Belmonts, Gary U.S. Bonds, The Dovells and the Shirelles.
Tuzzo left the band 1985 to focus on a career in the financial services industry, which ultimately led to his heading up Total Financial Concepts, Inc. in Edison, New Jersey. However, music has continued to play a significant role in Tuzzo’s life. He has worked closely over the years with the board of the Jazz Arts Project so it was no surprise when they recently asked Bob if he would consider joining them; an invitation he says he enthusiastically accepted.
“I am very excited to be part of the Jazz Arts Project’s board of directors,” Tuzzo said. “This will allow me to utilize my experience in the financial services and financial investments industry to help grow the financial health of the organization and to support interest in this wonderful art form.”
The Jazz Arts Project is instrumental in introducing jazz music to young students. The organization conducts workshops and special programs for young students, many of whom have never seen or held a musical instrument, Tuzzo said. Jazz Arts Projects camps teach youngsters about music and get them interested in jazz in the hopes that their appreciation will help to preserve and grow this great American art form and captivate their interest for years to come.
